The NPAWC sponsors many fund raising projects and events to raise money to be awarded to individuals who wish to further their education, need training to return to the work force, are changing careers or upgrading their skills.  Applications for the scholarships are available in February at the North Port Library and Community Colleges in Sarasota and Charlotte Counties.  Information is available from any NPAWC member.  Scholarships are awarded in the spring based on financial need and a commitment to a course of study.

The NPAWC has always felt that continuing education was a very important step on the path to success. We have made it our mission to do our part in making it possible for others to pursue that path. Over the years we have given scholarships to individuals starting, continuing, or completing their chosen course of study. Applicants can attend the institution of their choice on a full or part-time basis. Most of our applicants are mature, non-traditional students who may be facing a transition of some kind and find it necessary to enhance their current skills or to gain new ones. The current economic situation has placed some individuals in the position of becoming the family wage earner for the first time in their lives. We're there to help.
